Documentation - Link to Related Data

You can relate Documentation to data in other modules of YMS, this ensures documents—such as manuals, schematics and other import documentation are easily accessible from relevant places throughout the application.

For example, you might relate a "Fresh Water Distribution Schematic" to all Equipment items shown on the schematic, such as pumps, hot water tanks, boilers, or treatment plants. This allows crew to quickly access the schematic directly from each of the related Equipment’s Attachments tab.

Linking Documentation to Related Data

1. Click on the Related Items tab from the Documentation’s Detail form.

2. Click the Add button.

3. From the drop down, select the module that contains the data you would like to link to.

4. Select the Equipment you would like to link this Documentation to and click Save.

Top Tip: Use the Grid filter to quickly find the data you are looking for.

The selected data will now appear in the Related Items tab of the Documentation Record, as seen below. This Documentation will also be listed under the Attachments tab of all the associated Equipment.
