Inventory - Bar Code Scanning
Inventory added to YMS is automatically assigned a unique YMS Barcode Number. This barcode can be printed as a label, allowing you to quickly scan and locate the corresponding inventory item within YMS.
Scan a Bar code
Bar code scanners function like a keyboard—they input the scanned numbers directly into the system. To search for inventory by bar code in YMS, simply click into the Bar Code Search field in the Inventory module, then scan the item using a bar code scanner connected to your device.

Once you scan a barcode, YMS will automatically search your inventory:
If an exact match is found, the matching inventory item will be displayed on screen.
If multiple items share the same bar code or partial matches are found, YMS will display a list of results so you can select the correct item.
Add a Bar code
In many cases, inventory already comes with bar code labels printed by the manufacturer or supplier. Instead of printing duplicate labels, you can simply link the supplier's barcode to the inventory item in YMS—saving time and reducing label waste.
To add a Suppliers bar code to a YMS Inventory item, locate the Inventory in YMS, click the speed Dial and select the “Add Barcode“ button.

Scan the bar code and click Save, you can now use the suppliers bar code to identify the inventory in YMS.

You can follow the same process to remove Bar code labels if required.
