Adding Attachments

Attachments can be added to various types of data in YMS, including Equipment, Inventory, Tasks, and Log Entries.

You can choose to keep the attachment accessible only from the record you’re adding it to, or include it in one of the Documentation Libraries. Adding an attachment to a Documentation Library enables centralized management, allowing you to upload new revisions, and lets you relate the attachment to other relevant data in YMS.

  • From a Records Detail form navigate to the “Attachments” Tab.

  • Add a new Attachment using the Add button.

  • If you want to include the attachment in the Documentation Libraries, check the box and select the appropriate Library Type and add any additional details.

Use Drawings, Manuals, and MSDS for attachments that clearly match those types. For any other attachments you would like to manage centrally, use the Vessel Reference library.

  • Once attachments are related to a record, you can open and edit Attachment details by clicking on the row. You can also click the Download button to open and view the file, the delete button to remove the attachments relationship to the selected record.

Deleting the attachment from this tab only removes its link to the selected record, it does not delete the file itself. If the attachment is included in a Documentation Library, it will still be accessible from there.
